Sorry I haven’t updated in forever. I’ve been meaning to write a review of the Honda Civic Tour show from two weeks ago, but I never got around to is, so here it is now!
1st to play: Phantom Planet
I wasn’t really familiar with them before. I had heard their one song, California, from the OC. Which is a really good song, but the rest of their set…ehhh. I didn’t like it that much. I think they sound better on a recording than live. In fact, they were pretty shitty live. But you can listen to them and be the judge. I, personally, didn’t like them that much. I met the guitarist though, he was really nice.
2nd: The Hush Sound
These guys are the whole reason I even went to this show! Ahhhh they were SOOO GOOD live! Greta (the lead singer/keyboardist) is CRAZY! She’s so amazing. Watching her was mesmerizing. I don’t understand how she can be so bouncy and crazy on those keys in heels and a dress, while hitting all those incredible notes. The rest of the band members were EQUALLY as amazing. If you haven’t heard them yet, GO LISTEN TO THEM NOW.
I was pleasantly surprised with these guys. On record, I feel like all of their songs sound pretty much the same. But live, they are sooo good. Their energy is amazing and it really channels into their music. The lead singer has an incredible voice that you can only get the full effect of by listening to it live. And their keyboardist was RIDICULOUS. At one point, he did a handstand on his keyboard and played on it! Their set was so good and I really hope to see them live again some day.
Last, but certainly not least: Panic At The Disco
Ah, the headlining act. Once again, Brendon Urie has managed to melt my heart away. That boy sure can sing (and move). I thought they were realllly good live. The overall set up of the stage was gorgeous and I loved their trainsitions between songs. I used to not really like Panic’s old stuff, but hearing it live made me really enjoy it. Their new stuff was also really good. Pick up their new album if you hadn’t yet. It is GOLD.
Me and Candice left before Panic’s encore because we wanted to wait by the buses and see if we could meet the bands. Well we got to meet Greta from The Hush Sound (AMAZING!!!!!! AHHHHHHH SHE’S SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!) and the guitarist from Phantom Planet (I don’t even know his name…) But security wouldn’t let anyone meet Panic. They were going straight to their bus. I was fine with that though. I mean hello, meeting Greta pretty much made my life. She’s my hero :]
So yeah, there’s my little concert review! Check out the music if you have the time.
Now it’s time for me to sleep. Work tomorrow. ewwww. -_-
So for the past 4 days, The Maine has been leaving crazy cryptic youtube videos and myspace bulletins. And I mean CRAZY. They were like freaking subliminal messages or something. They were starting to really scare me.
Well it all led up to midnight June 4. They completely re-vamped their myspace profile and added a new song called “Everything I Ask For.”
I LOVE IT AND I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE ALBUM RELEASE ON JULY 8!!!!! They’re also going to be here in Seattle for the Soundtrack Of Your Summer Tour w/Boys Like Girls, Good Charlotte, and Metro Station, on July 14th. I’m going, but if Ms.Lloyd asks, I’m at a “family reunion.”
CHECK IT OUUUUUUUUUUUT

I just got back from seeing the new Narnia movie, which by the way was WAYYY too long for my attention span but it kinda got interesting towards the end. Anyways, near the end of the movie, this song started playing and I was like oh wtf this is helllaaa cheesy (because of the scene the song was paired with.) But then I listened closer and realized who was singing it. Regina Spektor. Ahh I love that woman. Her songs are amazing. And I love this one too. I don’t know if she wrote is specifically for the movie or not, but I still like it. It made me tear up a bit. Oh but only a bit.
“The Call” by Regina Spektor
(I tried to find a video that didn’t have to do with Narnia…but that didn’t happen.)
ksjgh;kd don’t have much time. quick post.
Death Cab For Cutie’s new album came out yesterday. I haven’t gotten a chance to pick it up yet.
Narrow Stairs

The first single from their new CD is called “I Will Posess Your Heart.” It is 8 minutes and 31 second long, and the vocals don’t start until about 4:46. Just watch the music video. DCFC never dissapoints! Unless you’re not into this sort of thing. Then it will probably make you fall asleep.
Whatever. I like it. It’s different than what they normally do. It’s not one of their bests, but I sitll like it. Kind of. I need to buy the album and listen to the rest of it before I decide anything. But like I said before, it’s Death Cab. They never fail :]
